I’m studying all these names of places, and people for my history of industrial design paper tmr. and many times i feel that i cannot connect with them.. they are just names, like in a book which i cannot feel.
but then i imagine me going to these places next time, standing there, taking in the sights and sounds and that moment, that moment when they all come to life, i will know that i have not been reading mists, that i have been existing in air. they are real, and i will be alive.
If you’re twenty-two, physically fit, hungry to learn and be better, I urge you to travel - as far and as widely as possible. Sleep on floors if you have to. Find out how other people live and eat and cook. Learn from them- wherever you go.Anthony Bourdain (via b0ld—as—l0ve)
